I heard a shocking news this morning from my mom... My neighbour's daughter committed suicide in the wee hours yesterday morning. Sighhh!!

She had jumped from a 10th floor unit in Hougang area, her boyfriend's house. They had a quarrel earlier on. The boyfriend had initiated to break up which resulted in her threatening to jump off. The boyfriend had quickly called for police. However, she still chose to end her life.

She was pronounced dead at 3:51am. She was only 25 years old. Sad right? This was her 4th attempt to end her life. She had tried swallowing pills on previous occasions & was hospitalised 3 times for having her stomach pumped.

She had just been discharged from hospital on Tuesday after having stayed there for 2weeks, also because of swallowing pills.

I had knew her since young & she used to come my house to play. But we grew distanced from each other after we grown up.

Her mom was devastated and yet angry with her for committing this foolish act. Her mom even refused going to hospital to claim her body. Actually, what her mom did was somewhat understandable la. She had painstakingly raised her 2 children alone. She had divorced with her husband when the daughter was still a baby. She had played the role of a mother and a father to them for so many years. She had took great pains in ensuring that the daughter get a higher diploma. Yet, the daughter chose to die (just because of a guy) and did not stop for a moment to think how would the poor mother going to live after that.

Anyway, I'm wondering why they had never brought her to see a psychiatrist after knowing she had tried committing suicide the 1st time. This tragedy might not have happened then had she sought professional help during the early stage.
